An Introduction
The Young Professionals Group is a connecting point for post-college singles looking for an opportunity to connect with other "YP's" who want to grow in their relationship with Christ . This group is in its formative stage in 2010. We've had several introductory activities this summer and now we'll lay the groundwork for regular gatherings in this fall.
Why? (A brief history)
This ministry began several years ago as part of "C2," the College-Career group of Riverwood Community Chapel. As time went on there was a growing realization that college life and post college life involved very different tracks of discipleship. "R2" was formed as Riverwood's college component. Riverwood's career people were on their own until now. With the help of some older mentors, the beginning core members have a vision of partnering with other local churches to build a community with the following goals:
* helping post-college singles and pre-kid couples to grow as disciples of Christ;
* growing together as a Christ-centered community;
* discover opportunities to serve their local church body through worship and service.
Through the summer of 2010 we've met to become acquainted with other post-college men and women looking to grow in these areas. We've laid the groundwork for regular meetings this fall, seeking God's direction for how this group will interact and move forward. How can you get involved? Click here.
